Server file access via unchecked attachment paths
Published May 23, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
Directory traversal in Snow Monkey Forms 5.0.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to access server files through malicious form submissions. Mail-attachment handling trusts form-controlled file references without verifying that they remain under the plugin's temporary directory or originate from a file-upload field. No authentication is required; successful access can expose sensitive data, alter website content, or exhaust server resources.
