Local code execution via unrestricted installation folder
Published Jun 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
Incorrect folder permissions in CONTEC CONPROSYS HMI System before 3.5.3 allow local users to execute programs or destroy the system. The local installation folder has no specific ACL, granting general OS users broad permissions over product files. A logged-in general user can alter those files, enabling malicious code to run in the product environment and allowing system destruction without administrative access.
