CVE-2023-28390

Administrative OS command execution via management console

Published May 23, 2023 · Updated Jan 17, 2025

Privilege escalation in ICOM SR-7100VN firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands from the management console. A specific management-console command grants the product administrator OS-level administrative privileges, but ICOM has not disclosed the command or the missing authorization check that permits the transition. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access and an account that can log in to the management console; successful exploitation permits page alteration, system destruction, or malicious program execution.
