CVE-2023-28365Network attack vector

Host command execution via crafted backup restoration

Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024

Command injection in Ubiquiti UniFi Network Application 7.3.83 and earlier on Linux allows remote authenticated users to execute host commands. During restoration, the application fails to neutralize command data embedded in an attacker-controlled backup before passing it to the Linux host; Ubiquiti has not disclosed the affected code locus. Application-administrator access and restoration of the crafted backup are required, after which commands run on the host being restored.
