CVE-2023-28364Network attack vector

Open redirect via automatic QR-code navigation

Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 26, 2024

Open redirect in Brave Browser Android before 1.52.117 allows remote attackers to navigate users to attacker-chosen URLs via QR codes. The built-in QR scanner submits each decoded URL directly to the omnibox and loads it without first displaying the destination or awaiting confirmation. A user must scan a crafted QR code; the flaw changes only the navigation destination and does not itself grant code execution or data access.
