CVE-2023-28353Public exploit

SYSTEM code execution via arbitrary file upload

Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 13, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in Faronics Insight 10.0.19045 on Windows allows remote attackers to execute code as SYSTEM on Teacher Consoles. FITeacherServer.exe accepts an unauthenticated multipart POST containing attacker-controlled filename and destination-path fields, then writes the file anywhere on disk as SYSTEM. Exploitation requires local-network reachability and a student agent ID obtainable through UDP discovery; direct code execution also requires a writable execution path or a vulnerability chain.
