CVE-2023-28351Public exploit

Keystroke disclosure via world-readable plaintext logs

Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 13, 2025

Information disclosure in Faronics Insight 10.0.19045 on Windows allows local users to read cleartext keystroke logs. The Student Console records every keypress in plaintext files under C:\ProgramData\Faronics\Insight\Data\KeyLogs and gives all local users read access to that directory. Any local account can recover typed personal data or account credentials left in the files without interacting with the student whose input was captured.
