Traffic interception and tampering via cleartext transport
Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 13, 2025
Cleartext transport in Faronics Insight 11.21.2100.262 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept or alter console traffic. The Teacher Console webserver and WebSocket server send Student Console API traffic and keystroke data without TLS encryption. An attacker positioned on the communication path needs no Insight credentials and can read student keystrokes or replace executable files transferred to students.
