CVE-2023-28346Public exploit

Private endpoint access via spoofed Host header

Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Access control bypass in Faronics Insight 10.0.19045 allows remote attackers to reach private console endpoints over the local network. The Teacher Console HTTP server on port 8890 trusts a client-supplied Host header, so localhost:8890 routes remote requests to /login, /consoleSettings, and /console instead of returning 404. Network reachability is sufficient to expose the private pages; valid console credentials are required to log in and change settings.
