Account takeover via unverified booking email
Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in StellarWP Bookit 2.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to access any WordPress account through a booking request. CustomerController resolves the supplied email to an existing user, while save_or_get_wp_user returns that user's ID and the booking flow sets authentication cookies without verifying a password. The attacker must know an account email and reach a page containing the booking form; an administrator email yields full site control.
