CVE-2023-28336Network attack vector

Restricted user-name disclosure via unfiltered history IDs

Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in Moodle LMS allows remote authenticated users with teacher access to view user names through grade history filters. In grade/report/history/classes/output/tablelog.php, tablelog accepted caller-supplied user IDs and queried user records without applying user_can_view_profile to each selected account. A teacher account and access to the grade history report are required; exposure is limited to names of users whose profiles that teacher cannot otherwise view.
