Template reset via missing session-key validation
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Moodle LMS 4.1.0 through 4.1.1 allows remote attackers to reset database activity templates. The mod/data/templates.php resetalltemplates branch calls reset_all_templates without validating a session key, while its generated action URL omits that key. An authenticated user with the template-management capability must follow an attacker-controlled request, and the action replaces all activity templates with defaults.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
