SYSTEM privilege escalation via kernel integer underflow
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Jan 23, 2025
Integer underflow in the Windows kernel allows local users with low privileges to elevate execution to SYSTEM on affected Windows releases. Microsoft identifies the weakness as integer underflow but has not published the affected kernel routine or operation that mishandles an attacker-controlled value. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and can provide complete control of the affected system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
