Local privilege escalation via NTLM heap overflow
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Jan 23, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows NTLM allows local users to elevate privileges on affected Windows 10, 11, and Server builds. Microsoft identifies the NTLM component and heap-overflow class but has not published the affected function or the operation that mis-sizes untrusted input. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability at elevated privilege.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
