Administrator-context JavaScript execution via arbitrary image MIME type
Published Jun 14, 2023 · Updated Dec 30, 2024
Stored XSS in the Sources UI of Proofpoint Threat Response Auto-Pull before 5.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript. The Sources UI accepts an administrator-supplied replacement image with an arbitrary MIME type and later serves it as executable content without restricting the type. An administrator on an adjacent network must replace the image, and user interaction then executes the stored payload in an administrator context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
