CVE-2023-28153Public exploit

Restriction bypass via unchecked overlay permission loss

Published May 29, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Security-control bypass in Kiddoware Kids Place Parental Control before 3.8.50 allows physically proximate attackers to remove restrictions. The app relies on its Display over other apps permission for enforcement but does not block use or alert the parent when that permission is revoked. Physical control of the Android device and a Safe Mode reboot are required; blocked apps remain usable until the permission is restored.
