CVE-2023-28151Network attack vector

Data disclosure via remote DTD resolution

Published Mar 24, 2023 · Updated May 30, 2025

XXE in Independentsoft JSpreadsheet before 1.1.110 allows remote attackers to disclose data through a DOCX file referencing a remote DTD. The workbook-loading API parses attacker-controlled XML with external entity resolution enabled, causing the parser to retrieve resources named by the DTD. No authentication or user interaction is required when a network application passes untrusted DOCX content to the library; the CNA assessment limits the reported impact to confidentiality.
