Data disclosure via remote-DTD entity resolution
Published Mar 24, 2023 · Updated May 30, 2025
XML external entity injection in Independentsoft JODF before 1.1.110 allows attackers to disclose data through crafted DOCX files. When the API parses a DOCX file, its XML parser resolves an attacker-supplied remote DTD and processes external entity references. Exploitation requires an application using the library to parse the malicious document, and the bounded published impact is unauthorized data disclosure.
