CVE-2023-28130Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized hostname

Published Jul 26, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Command injection in Check Point Gaia Portal allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary operating-system commands. The /cgi-bin/hosts_dns.tcl handler passes an unsanitized hostname into a Tcl command list, where pipe and backtick metacharacters trigger command execution. A valid session with permission to change DNS settings is required, and injected commands run with the Admin user's privileges.
