Admin-level stored XSS via Custom Howdy Text
Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 9, 2024
Stored XSS in Ultimate Dashboard before 3.7.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through Custom Howdy Text. The Custom Howdy Text setting stores administrator-supplied markup without sanitizing it or escaping the value before rendering the page. An administrator must save the payload, and a subsequent page load executes it in a browser even when WordPress denies the unfiltered_html capability.
