CVE-2023-28004Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked Ethernet array index

Published Apr 18, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper array-index validation in PowerLogic HDPM6000 0.58.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the meter. The firmware fails to validate an array index while processing a specially crafted Ethernet request, producing a buffer overflow; Schneider Electric has not identified the parser, function, or indexed structure. Network access to the meter is sufficient, without authentication or user interaction, and successful exploitation permits a service-interrupting crash or remote code execution.
