Code execution via unvalidated report macros
Published Mar 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Improper input validation in IGSS Custom Reports 16.0.0.23040 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a malicious report file. The Custom Reports component accepts macro-bearing report content without adequate validation, allowing the embedded macro to run. Execution requires a local user to open a report file planted by an attacker, and resulting code runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
