CVE-2023-2797Network attack vector

Private code disclosure via unsanitized permalinks

Published Jun 16, 2023 · Updated Dec 6, 2024

Path traversal in Mattermost GitHub Plugin allows remote authenticated users to preview private repository code through crafted permalinks. The code-preview permalink handler accepts traversal elements in a posted link instead of sanitizing the repository path before requesting file contents. Exploitation requires channel posting access and an integration able to read the targeted repository; disclosure is limited to previewed code.
