Gatekeeper bypass via race condition
Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Race condition in Gatekeeper in Apple macOS before 13.3 allows local users to bypass application security checks with a crafted app. Apple states only that improved locking addressed the race and has not disclosed the affected function, shared resource, or triggering sequence. Successful exploitation requires user interaction and permits an app that Gatekeeper would otherwise block to pass its checks.
