CVE-2023-27940

System connection disclosure via missing permission checks

Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Information disclosure in the Apple kernel on affected iOS, iPadOS, and macOS allows local users to observe system-wide connections. The kernel omits required permission checks when a sandboxed app requests system-wide network-connection visibility; Apple has not identified the affected interface. Exploitation requires local code execution inside an app sandbox and exposes connection metadata, with no reported ability to read traffic or modify connections.
