Authenticated SMTP password disclosure via moduWeb settings
Published Mar 27, 2023 · Updated Jan 17, 2025
Cleartext credential disclosure in SAUTER Controls modu525 all versions allows remote authenticated users to read the SMTP password. The moduWeb mail-server settings mask the stored password with asterisks in the interface but disclose its cleartext value to an authenticated account. Access to the web interface and a configured SMTP account are required; the exposed credential can then be reused against the mail service.
