CVE-2023-27920Network attack vector

System time alteration via missing authorization

Published May 23, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025

Improper access control in CONTEC SolarView Compact before 8.10 allows remote authenticated users to alter the appliance's system time. The system date/time settings page accepts and applies a user-supplied date and time without enforcing the authorization needed for that operation. An authenticated account with user privileges and network access to the web interface is required, and the documented consequence is limited to changing the device clock.
