Code execution via malformed X_B file parsing
Published Apr 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Autodesk AutoCAD 2023 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a malicious X_B file. The X_B parser reads beyond an allocated buffer while processing attacker-controlled file data; Autodesk has not disclosed the responsible module or function. Exploitation requires the file to be opened in AutoCAD and can expose process memory, crash the application, or run code with the current process privileges.
