CVE-2023-27900Network attack vector

Service interruption via unlimited multipart parts

Published Mar 8, 2023 · Updated Feb 28, 2025

Resource exhaustion in Jenkins 2.393 and earlier and LTS 2.375.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to interrupt service via crafted uploads. MultipartFormDataParser passes multipart requests to Apache Commons FileUpload without limiting the number of parts, permitting unbounded resource allocation. Any reachable HTTP endpoint that processes file uploads exposes the unauthenticated path; the vendor does not specify whether exhaustion causes a hang or crash.
