Authenticated code execution via unchecked plugin instantiation
Published Jul 8, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Code injection in the IBM Db2 JDBC Driver 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The driver accepts a named pluginClassName value and instantiates the supplied plugin class without validating that the class is safe or permitted. Exploitation requires authenticated network access to an application using the driver and grants code execution with that application's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
