CVE-2023-27836Network attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via devicePwd injection

Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Jan 6, 2025

Command injection in TP-Link TL-WPA8630P (US) V2 firmware 171011 allows remote attackers to execute commands via the devicePwd parameter. The sub_40A80C function incorporates devicePwd into an operating-system command without neutralizing command syntax. Network access to the affected device is sufficient; successful exploitation grants command execution with the firmware service's privileges.
