Authenticated command execution via diagnostic parameters
Published Mar 26, 2023 · Updated Feb 20, 2025
Command injection in Ruijie RG-EW PRO routers EW_3.0(1)B11P204 allows remote authenticated users to execute system commands. The runPackDiagnose function in diagnose.lua inserts attacker-controlled data.ip, data.protocal, data.iface, and data.package values into operating-system commands without neutralizing command syntax. Access to the router's diagnostic interface with low-privileged credentials is required, after which injected commands can read or alter data and interrupt service.
