Local code execution via untrusted installer search path
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

The public report identifies recoverit_setup_full4134.exe as the vulnerable locus but does not disclose which program or library is resolved through the unsafe path. Exploitation requires user interaction to run the installer and control of a searched location; successful loading runs attacker code with the installer process privileges.
