Authenticated SYSTEM code execution via unchecked administrative requests
Published Jun 2, 2023 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
Privilege escalation in South River Technologies TitanFTP before 2.0.1.2102 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as SYSTEM. The user web server accepts requests for administrator-only actions, including external-job execution, without enforcing the caller's role. A low-privilege account and network access to ports 80 or 443 are required; successful exploitation grants full host control.
