Script execution via unescaped Comment Manager cid
Published Mar 16, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Reflected XSS in Typecho 1.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script through the Comment Manager. The /admin/manage-comments.php page directly inserts the unfiltered cid POST parameter into HTML instead of encoding it for the output context. Exploitation requires access to the administrative backend and submission of a crafted request, causing script execution in the authenticated browser context.
