Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via path traversal
Published Mar 28, 2023 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Path traversal in MuYuCMS 2.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files through picdel.html. The handler accepts a picdelur form value containing ../ traversal segments and resolves it outside the intended upload directory for deletion. Administrative-backend access is required, and successful exploitation removes files writable by the web process, potentially interrupting the hosted service.
