UI and audio tampering via content provider
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Improper privilege management in POWERAMP audioplayer builds 925 bundle play and 954 allows attackers to alter UI and audio settings. The content provider accepts another app's insert and update operations on reverb, EQ preset, and album records without an authorization gate. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled Android app on the same device and can disable UI input, replace album names, or change audio-effect presets.
