CVE-2023-27643Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Persistent hang via unbounded content-provider inserts

Published Apr 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 10, 2025

Resource exhaustion in Poweramp builds 925-bundle-play and 954-uni allows attackers to make the Android music player unresponsive. The playlist, queue, and storage content-provider URIs accept repeated unbounded records from a second app, and Poweramp loads the accumulated data without an effective resource limit. A second app on the same Android device must first populate the database; opening the main screen, Rescan, or Select Folders then causes a persistent hang.
