CVE-2023-2762

Code execution via stale object operation

Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Nov 7, 2024

Use-after-free in Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS Desktop 2021 through 2023 allows attackers to execute code by opening a crafted SLDPRT file. The SLDPRT reader performs operations on an object without validating that the object still exists, leaving a stale object reference. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open the file, after which code runs with the current process's privileges.
