Server crash via unbounded SDP line scan
Published Mar 15, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Denial of service in OpenSIPS sipmsgops before 3.1.7 and 3.2.0 through 3.2.3 allows remote attackers to crash the server via malformed SDP. The delete_sdp_line function scans for line feeds beyond the SDP stream boundaries and passes the resulting range to lump deletion, whose sanity check aborts. Reachability requires a configuration invoking affected processing such as codec_delete_except_re or codec_delete_re, and the verified consequence is service interruption from a server crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
