Server crash via unterminated SDP line
Published Mar 15, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Improper input validation in the sipmsgops module in OpenSIPS before 3.1.7 and 3.2.0 through 3.2.3 allows remote attackers to crash the server. The delete_sdp_line function scans for a line feed and previously advanced past the SDP body boundary when the final line lacked one. Exploitation requires a configuration that invokes codec_delete_except_re, codec_delete_re, or another function using the affected code; processing the malformed body triggers an abort and interrupts the SIP service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
