Remote crash via invalid parsed host pointer
Published Mar 15, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Improper input validation in OpenSIPS before 3.1.8 and 3.2.0 through 3.2.4 allows remote attackers to crash the server via a crafted SIP URI. parse_uri discards the parsed host pointer for TEL and NENA service URIs, leaving rewrite_ruri to derive a copy position from an unrelated buffer. The unauthenticated network trigger reaches the fault only when routing invokes affected URI-rewrite functions such as setport, and the resulting process crash interrupts SIP service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
