CVE-2023-2759Network attack vector

Authenticated account takeover via hidden password-change API

Published Jul 17, 2023 · Updated Oct 30, 2024

Incorrect authorization in TapHome Core before 2023.2 allows remote authenticated users to take over the device by changing passwords. The hidden API accepts a low-privileged user's request to change another user's password without requiring the existing password or sufficient authorization. Any low-privileged account with network access can replace another user's credentials and gain that user's control of the Core.
