Google Cloud API key disclosure via TTS errors
Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Information disclosure in ReadToMyShoe 0.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain a Google Cloud API key through a TTS error. The server's tts_single error path propagates a reqwest error whose request URL retains the key query parameter, and the website renders that URL in the add-article error message. Exploitation requires an article-addition request that causes Google Cloud TTS to return an error; disclosure is limited to the configured API key.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
