Reflected XSS via insufficient input encoding
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 7, 2025
Reflected XSS in SAP GUI for HTML kernel releases allows remote attackers to read or modify browser data through a malicious URL. The HTML response path insufficiently encodes user-controlled URL input before returning it to the browser, where injected script executes. Exploitation requires a victim to click the crafted link; the script then runs in that victim’s browser context and can read, alter, or transmit browser data.
