CVE-2023-2747

Confidentiality loss via uninitialized encryption IV

Published Jun 15, 2023 · Updated Dec 11, 2024

Gecko SDK 2.0.0 through 2.2.1 contains a cryptographic weakness that allows local users to recover data via secure-engine flash encryption. The Secure Engine encrypts data in flash memory with an uninitialized initialization vector, weakening confidentiality of internally stored data. Exploitation requires local access to a device using the affected firmware; public records do not describe a remote path or service-level attack.
