Administrator settings changes via missing CSRF validation
Published Oct 6, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
CSRF in MakeStories (for Google Web Stories) before 3.0.3 allows remote attackers to change plugin settings through an administrator. The settings-update handler accepts state-changing requests without validating a CSRF token, so crafted content can submit changes under an active administrator session. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit attacker-controlled content; published evidence limits impact to settings modification and service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
