Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Oct 3, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in HTTP Auth 0.3.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin settings through a forged request. The save_settings() handler accepts state-changing input without validating a WordPress nonce, so the browser's authenticated session supplies authority. Exploitation requires an administrator to visit attacker-controlled content, and the resulting changes can alter or disable the site's HTTP authentication controls.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
