Code execution via insufficient SPP parser validation
Published Mar 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation before 2201.0006 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted SPP files. The SPP parser fails to validate user-supplied data before reading past the end of an allocated data structure. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit a malicious page, and successful execution runs with the current process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
