Code execution via unrestricted XLS macros
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Remote code execution in Foxit PDF Editor 12.1.1.15289 and earlier allows remote attackers to run code by opening a crafted XLS file. The XLS parser opens embedded macro-enabled documents with default permissions and executes their macros without restrictions or user consent. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit a malicious page, and the resulting code runs in the current process context.
